When we did the storage room several weeks ago, Dad said that maybe he would take the duct work from the furnace out to make more room. I agreed it would be nice but didn't really expect it to happen so fast. The very next week he tore some of the ductwork out and made the biggest mess There was black soot everywhere. I wanted to get the shelves out and everything cleaned but he wanted to do more of the ductwork. On Columbus day he didn't have to work but I did. He took the rest of the ductwork out and made an even bigger mess. when I got home from work I took all the stuff out of the room again and with the help of the Shelton boys brought some sheetrock and the old blackboard downstairs and we put it up on the walls of the storage room. I then spent parts of the next three days washing off every can, bottle, shelf and bucket and then put it all back together.
Dad would really like to take out the whole furnace but that is an even bigger job and I don't want the mess again. It would make that room a great storage room but I am satisfied with it the way it is. The wheat grinder is actually inside the furnace in the space dad emptied.

It's a bummer that you had to redo all of it. But at least you have it all finished again; our garage is still a wreck and we have been working on it for over a month. :S
This is totally unrelated, but I know you used to look at Denise's blog...she was asking everyone that looks at it to comment so that she knew who was looking at her page. (read post "Join me in an experiment") She wants to make sure there aren't any weirdos out there...so you might want to comment and make her at ease. :D
way to go mom, it must be in the Fullmer blood. Jake sometimes will do things like that. I come home to a mess but a job I asked to get done is done. You win some and lose some. your glad the job got done, but its frustrating when they make an even bigger job out of it
You got so much packed in there - it's awesome.
It's probably good to have the mess all cleaned up. In the book I'm reading it says something to the effect that having something damaged is good because then you fix it and it is better than it was before. Sounds like you are experiencing that.
Very impressive! It sure is hard to fault them when they do something that is nice, but manage to make a mess or somehow do it not the way you wanted. Sometimes I find I just have to bite my lip, let him do it his way, and enjoy the fruits of the labor afterwards.
messes are what make us men!
How bout this...If you still haven't pulled that old furnace out by the next time I am home I will help rip that old beast outta there. I will also insist on you just kickin back and enjoying the free labor!
Cross my heart
good job momma
