Dad and I both had good results from our months work. Dad lost another 7 lbs making a total of 23 all together. I lost another 4 and am at a total of 11. We have really changed our eating habits and seem to be doing well. An occasional splurge keeps us going.

The book I read about weight loss said that you should set aside one day of the week where you get to have a "cheat food". You aren't supposed to be excessive about it, like maybe have a small piece of cake, or one cookie, or a small order of fries or something. That way you are more likely to stick to the eating plan and not binge because you know you are allowed a treat on that day. So I think you had the right idea of splurging a little bit.

I think we all need an occasional splurge to reward ourselves for doing so well. I am always surprised though in how chocolate doesn't taste the same after eating better foods.
